Papa Nero

View from the road

Papa Nero is a large beach between Agios Ioannis and Damouchari, on the northeast coast of Pelion. Do not confuse it with Kala Nera, their names may sound similar but both are very different and away from each other.

Papa Nero is separated from Agios Ioannis by a riverlet but yet there is a pedestrian bridge which allows you to walk all the way from the beach to the village center by the sea, within 10 minutes. The beach is wide, with sand and small pebbles around the shore. In the summer it is well organized with beach bars, sunbeds, parasols, changing cabins and even canoes to rent. In the north part of Papa Nero there is a campsite with the same name, close to the pedestrian bridge. Around the beach you can also find a few tavernas, hotels and complexes with rooms and studios to rent.
