Palio

Palio (Paleo) is a small coastal settlement and a suburb of Kavala city. Its full name is Palio Tsifliki and the distance to the center of Kavala is approximately 7 km.

Palio is not a typical tourist resort. It has no center, neither a pedestrian area where you can walk on foot - it consists mainly of small hotels, villas and guesthouses located on both sides of the main road which passes through the village. No public parking lots are available, parking spaces are provided only by hotels or some tavernas for their clients. But even if you have no car with you, there is no need to look for essential things out of the village - it has two bakeries, mini market, tavernas and a pharmacy.

The beach of Palio is sandy all over, with shallow water around the shore. The few beach bars occupy small part of the strip and usually there is plenty of space for those who prefer to bring their own umbrella. Some beachfront hotels also offer sunbeds and parasols for their guests.
