Nea Potidea

The beach promenade in the morning

Nea Potidea or just Potidea is located at the very beginning of Kassandra peninsula where a narrow isthmus exists. In the isthmus a waterway links the two shores of the peninsula. Nea Potidea is the only village located both on the east and the west coast of Kassandra.

The beach is on the east side of the peninsula - large and predominantly sandy, with beach bars and plenty of free space. Parallel to the beach runs a pedestrian promenade with tables of the beach cafes and small shops. More restaurants and cafes can be found in the west part where the village center is.

Along the waterway you can see the ruins of the ancient Potidea colony - the place on which the present settlement is built, and one km southeast is the Church of the Archangels.
