Sarakiniko

Sarakiniko is the most emblematic place of the island, also know as the ”moon beach” of Milos. The smooth white rocks all around it make the landscape surrealistic and attract visitors like a magnet.

Firiplaka

Firiplaka is one of the most scenic beaches of Milos, surrounded by cliffs in various colors and a large piece of rock which sticks out of the sea. When you approach this beach, you will first see it from above.

Achivadolimni

Achivadolimni is a long sandy beach located in the narrowest part of Milos, in the large bay of Adamas. It has shallow blue water around the shore, as well as a beach bar.

Mytakas

The rocks around Mytakas divide it into two, forming one long sandy beach and a small cove which resembles a canal in the sea. In the cove there are a few guest houses which are actually luxury renovated fishermen`s houses and former boat garages.

Agia Kyriaki

Agia Kyriaki distinguishes for the blue water which literally glows around the shore - an effect due to small white pebbles in the sea. It is a long sandy beach with some facilities in the summer and boats for group excursions to Kleftiko and the south coast.

Firopotamos

The beach of Firopotamos is located in one of the so-called syrmata villages of Milos, with traditional fishermen`s houses right at the seafront. The beach is pebbled but it is wind-sheltered and the sea is very blue and transparent.

Tsigrado

Tsigrado is a beautiful beach with transparent blue water, surrounded by big rocks. Most people prefer to visit it by boat because the access is difficult - you need to descend down on a narrow passage dug into a rock, as you use the thick rope you will find there.

Paleochori

Some beaches of Milos are illustrative examples of the island`s volcanic past and Paleochori is one of them. Traces of the volcano can be noticed in the reddish cliffs around the beach, the warm underwater springs and the volcanic food which is cooked under a stone with very hot sand.

Triades

Not one, but three large sandy beaches next to each other, separated by interesting rock formations. The remote location of the Triades guarantees privacy even in July and August in case you don`t mind driving on the a dirt road.

Alogomandra

What makes Alogomandra intriguing is the rock formation in one of its ends, which resembles a large semi-cave. The beach has fine sand and transparent blue water but in windy days the sea is quite rough.

Kastanas

The colors are all around you at this wild beach on the east coast of Milos. The shore of Kastanas is covered with smooth pebbles in various colors and the weird cliffs behind it are in red, violet and orange hues.

Papafragas

It is hard to call it a beach but it definitely presents a very different beach experience. Papafragas is a narrow canal in the sea with high vertical cliffs from both sides and a tiny strip of sand.

Plathiena

Plathiena is a beach with fine sand and shallow blue water, very close to Plaka. The beach lies in a rugged bay, sheltered from wind and with a dramatic view to sunset and the uninhabited Antimilos islet.

Being one of the most shallow and wind-sheltered beaches of the island, Provatas is preferred by families with small kids and people who do not like waves. The beach is covered with fine soft sand all over.
