Milopotamos
Milopotamos, the most famous beach of Pelion, is on the east coast. You will recognize it by the hole in the rock which separates the beach into two parts, and this, in combination with the vivid blue water creates a camera-worthy scenic landscape.
Milopotamos (or Mylopotamos) is located close to the traditional village of Tsangarada, approximately 6 km away from the main road. The road leading to the beach ends just above it so there is no chance to miss it. From there you have two options to go to Milopotamos - a narrow path among pine trees which starts from the road and goes to the only taverna on the beach, and concrete stairs which start from the parking lot. In both cases you will have to walk for a few minutes but the access is easy. The most spread photos showing Milopotamos from above are taken from the parking lot.
The beach has sand mixed with pebbles and stones. In the summer (June-September) part of Milopotamos is covered by the sunbeds and parasols rented by a beach taverna but when you pass through the hole you will find yourself in the free zone. Keep in mind that the fame of this beach brings many visitors in the peak holiday periods so it gets really crowded, and also that the beach is in shadow after 3 pm.
Just next to Milopotamos is the beach of Zoodochos Pigi, a pebbly and not popular beach without facilities. You can reach it via the stairs from the parking lot as you follow the signs which mark the way to both Milopotamos and Zoodochos Pigi.
