Melani

Melani

Melani is one of the less known beaches of Pelion, located on the east coast. It lies just next to Potistika but both are separated by sea cliffs and the access to Melani is via a road from Paltsi.

The beach is large and covered with coarse sand. The cliffs that surround it are not as massive and colorful as those of Potistika, but there are a few large pieces of rock sticking out from the sea. Melani is not urbanized and there are no sunbeds, parasols or beach bars on the beach, which make it a preferred destination for campers and tents. The sea is deep around the shore and not suitable for people who cannot swim.

You can go from Potistika to Melani in a few minutes on foot, if you follow the narrow path over the rocks which separate them. Three is also dirt road behind both beaches which connect them but it is suitable only if you walk on it since it is overgrown with grass and quite uneven. The best route to reach Melani by car is Argalasti-Paltsi-Melani, entirely paved with signs to specify the direction.
