Mega Ammos

Pebbles around the shore and blue sea

Mega Ammos (also Megali Ammos) is the largest beach around Syvota. It is 1.5 km away from the village, in a cove close to the coastal road.

The beach is wide and offers facilities like water sports, sunbeds and parasols provided by three beach restaurants. Mega Ammos literally means ”big sand” but in fact it is rather pebbled, both on the shore and on the sea bottom. The water quickly gets deep.

There is a road train from Syvota which goes to Mega Ammos and the beaches of Mikri Ammos and Agia Paraskevi a few times daily (during the summer).
