Marathias is a wide sandy beach in the southwest part of Corfu
. Marathias is the official name, but it is also called Santa Barbara, Maltas and Martha (the latter are barely used and only confuse tourists). Nearby there is a village with the same name but is a few miles away from the sea and is not a resort.
Marathias beach is Blue Flag awarded and the water is very clean, with shading light and dark blue colors. There are several restaurants and cafes, villas and some studios to rent, as well as a mini market. The resort of Agios Georgios-Argyrades
is a few kilometers to the north and you can reach it even on foot since the beach strip is uninterrupted.
