Macheri

Macheri is a small mountainous village in Apokoronas area, built on a slope at the feet of Lefka Ori (The White Mountain), in green and quiet environment. It is an old settlement with Venetian-style stone houses and an authentic olive oil mill. The nearest beach is Kalyves, at a distance of 7 km.

Near Macheri there are other small and old villages like Provarma, Samonas, Paidochori. The larger village of Neo Chorio is 1 km away and there restaurants, gas stations and a pharmacy can be found. Above Neo Chorio you can visit the ruins of a fortress with view of Souda bay.
