Lemos

Lemos

Lemos is the southernmost point of Sithonia, close to Porto Koufo. It is like a tiny isthmus with two small beaches on each side. The access by road is difficult and there are no signs to lead you. The easiest way to reach it is by boat.

The road for Lemos starts from the the salt lake of Porto Koufo and it also leads to the beaches of Marathias and Palataki. The section to Marathias is in a good condition but after that you may continue with a car only if you have a 4x4 vehicle. The other option is to walk on foot (about 2 km). Once you reach Palataki, you will see that the road goes up a small hill over the beach. If you follow it, you will end up just above Lemos.

In the summer on Lemos you may see tents and people who have come for a day trip by sea but out of season you will be probably the only visitors. The two beaches have smooth pebbles and rocks in the sea. If you decide to visit Lemos by foot, do not forget to bring yourself water, proper clothing and sun protection as you will be away from any facilities, shops, cafes and people in general.
