Lefkes

The lower square

Lefkes is one of the oldest settlements of Paros, located in the inner part of the island between Parikia and Piso Livadi. Built amphitheatrically, it offers nice views toward the island and the neighbor Naxos.

Lefkes was the old capital of Paros and many of the old houses from 15 century are still preserved. The traditional taverns and kafenions (cafes) in the narrow village streets are more authentic than those of the seaside resorts. It is a pleasant place for a walk both in the day and in the evening. Lefkes also houses a small folklore museum, operating only in the summer.
