Lakka

Dark and light

Lakka is the second largest village of Paxos. It lies in a deep bay in the north of the island and is used as a port for boats and yachts, as its shape is almost round and protects it from winds.

Lakka is situated on a hill covered with olive trees and cypresses, with spectacular views of the sea which make it very scenic. The promenade is lively, with seaside tavernas, cafes and several bars, and it the alleys behind you can find a small square, souvenir shops and more tavernas. There are several family hotels, guesthouses with rooms to rent and private villas scattered in the area.

In the village there are two beaches - Kanoni and Harami - both with round white pebbles and trees around the coast which make natural shade. Nearby there are other beaches (rocky), but they can be reached only on foot or by boat.
