Kotronas

Kotronas

The village of Kotronas lies in a bay in east Mani. There are evidences that the settlement was found 1500 BC and it used to be a major commercial port for the peninsula but later it was replaced by Gythio.

The bay of Kotronas is indented and numerous small coves with sandy or pebbly beaches are to be found around the village. Next to the port there is a small sandy beach, sheltered from winds and shallow. An interesting place is the small rocky isthmus between Kotronas and Chalikia Vatta, as well as the chapel of Agios Spyridon perched on a sea rock connected to mainland (on the seaside road going from Kotronas to Skoutari).

Accommodation in Kotronas is available mainly around the beaches out of the village. Around the port there are a few restaurants and a mini market.
