Kastro

Kastro

Kastro occupies the highest part of Pano Chora, the upper neighborhood of Serifos Chora. It used to be a fortified settlement built in 15 century during the Venetian rule, and today some ruins of the walls and gates can still be seen.

Kastro has the same narrow alleys typical for the old Cycladic villages, and its most visited place is the top with the churches of Agios Konstantinos and Agia Varvara. From here there is a beautiful panoramic view to the port of Livadi and the east coast of the island.
