Kastellani
The village of Kastellani is also known under the name Kastellani Messi or Kastellani Achillion. It is a relatively large settlement located between Kinopiastes and Sinarades, and its central position makes it a good starting point to explore all the interesting places of the island.
Kastellani is a really calm place and the two cafeteria it has to offer can be found at the small square, with benches and the mandatory church in the typical Ionian pink color. There are no other facilities but the tavernas of Kinopiastes and Sinarades are just 2-3 km away. The traditional old village of Kouramades is also very close and it is a nice place for a walk, although you can see traditional houses in Kastellani, too. A new neighborhood has formed in the outskirts, with newer houses built among thick greenery and silence.
