Ipsos

Ipsos and Pyrgi seen from the road

Ipsos (not to confuse with Issos) is one of the liveliest resorts on Corfu island, located on the east coast near Dassia. Corfu Town is about 16 km away. Ipsos is preferred mainly by young couples, solo travelers and groups of friends because of its relatively great night life (meaning it has a few night clubs and discos). There are lots of accommodation options, shops, services, restaurants and cafes and the place is quite noisy both day and night. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday or if you are a family with small kids, this is definitely not your place, or you should search for accommodation in the outskirts of Ipsos towards Kato Korakiana or Pyrgi.

The beach of Ipsos is narrow but more than 1 km long. It is Blue Flag awarded, gravel mixed with pebbles, and since this part of Corfu faces mainland, there are no waves and wind. Water is transparent and clean, without sea urchins, and sea depth increases gradually. There are sunbeds and parasols to rent, showers and changing cabins, as well as various water sports. The road which passes through Ipsos runs parallel to the beach and there you will find all restaurants, cafes and shops. A 24-hour medical center is also available in the village.
