Exampela (or Exambela) is a small village in the center of
Sifnos. If you follow the road to
Platis Gialos and
Faros, it is right after
Apollonia and looks like a neighborhood with a cluster of houses.
The streets inside the village are narrow and inaccessible for cars, so all park along the main road. Exampela is not touristic, it is a place where locals live, and there are just two tavernas and one mini-market. Nearby you can visit the monastery of Panagia Vryssi or take some of the hiking trails which lead to
Kastro or to the south part of the island, passing by scattered old chapels with sea view. The ruins of the so called Black Tower of Sifnos can also be found near Exampela.
