Evrytania Region

Evrytania is a mountainous region in Central Greece and its capital is the town of Karpenissi. Due to its geographic position, it is one of the least populated administrative divisions of the country. Karpenissi attracts tourists mostly in winter with the ski resort of Velouchi which is only 10 km away, up in the mountain. The resort offers 10 pistes, 7 lifts and ski school. The largest artificial lake in Greece, named Kremasta, is located in the west part of Evrytania.
