Chouchoulio

Unde the trees

This beach is as weird as its name and one of the unknown places on the island. It lies on the northeast coast of Corfu, right next to the scenic harbor of Kouloura and because of this it is sometimes called Kouloura beach, although its signboard proudly shows the name.

Chochoulio is a small spot of pebbles and gravel and calm water sheltered from winds. A couple of high trees provide natural shade and there are no facilities at all but the taverna of Kouloura is just 200 meters away. Namely these trees and the soil beneath them do not remind much of a beach. The sea bottom is covered with pebbles, too, and the water quickly gets deep but there are hardly any waves here. A few private villas are hidden among the pine trees above
