Chortata

Chortata (pronounced Khortata) is a small village alongside the main island road on the west side of Lefkada island. It is still unspoiled by the tourist industry and has retained the traditional look of a Greek village. Most tourists only pass by on their way from Lefkada Town to Vasiliki and to the popular beaches of Gialos, Egremni and Porto Katsiki. From Chortata there is a shortcut to the east coast of Lefkada and Nikiana.

Chortata is usually visited for its tavernas with good local food and wine. The choice of accommodation is limited and comprises of villas.
