Arta Region Travel Guide

Arta occupies the southernmost part of Epirus, close to Preveza and the Ambracian Gulf. The gulf is internal and bears the name of Ancient Ambracia, known today as Arta. Capital of the region is the city of Arta, famous for its medieval bridge, the well preserved fortress from 13 century, the old clock tower and many Byzantine churches.
