Armeni (also Armenoi) is a small inland village in north Chania region, close to Kalyves
. It is near the main island road but away enough to be quiet and peaceful. The village is set in a fertile valley, with the Xydas river passing through it. The tiny village square is shaded by large trees and there are two taverns, a cafe and a bakery. Accommodation is provided in villas to rent and a few small hotels. Kalyves beach is 4 km away.
Keep in mind there is one more Armeni village on Crete
close to Rethymno, with a popular Minoan cemetery and sometimes people are confused with the two homonymous places.
