Argyrades

Argyrades seen from the road to Petriti

Argyrades is an inland village in the south part of Corfu island. It is very close to the large south beach of Agios Georgios and that is why the resort is sometimes called Agios Georgios-Argyrades (or Argyradon). The sandy beaches of Issos and Marathia are also within 4-5 km from the village, and the port of Lefkimmi is 12 km away.

Argyrades is an old village but the buildings along the main road which passes through it are relatively new and not grabbing the attention. If you want to see the authentic outlook of the village, you need to leave the car and enter some of the narrow alleys between the houses and have a walk in the areas for pedestrians only. All the cafes, small shops and basic services can be found along the main road.

The central position of Argyrades allows easy access to both the east and west seaside of south Corfu. 4 km from the village, on the east shore, is the calm pebbly beach of Boukari with a couple of fish tavernas, in proximity to the sleepy villages of Kouspades and Chlomos.
