Argalasti

View from the road

Argalasti is the largest settlement in South Pelion and it is considered а commercial and administrative center. It is inland, located 6-7 km from the seaside and a few roads leading to different parts of Pelion cross in or around it.

Argalasti has permanent population all year round and offers small shops, super markets, cafes, tavernas, bakeries and gas stations. The central area with the square is car-free and the streets around it are quite narrow. The village is one of the oldest in the peninsula and along with the newer houses you can see preserved old buildings and churches. Once a week a market day is organized and you can buy home-made products from local producers like olives, olive oil, herbs, etc.

Argalasti is closer to the west coast and the Pagasitikos coast, so the closest beaches are Kalamos, Paou and Chorto, all accessible via three different roads.
