Archeological Site of Palamari

Archeological Site of Palamari

The Archeological Site of Palamari shows excavations from a Bronze Age settlement. It is located on the north coast of Skyros island, just next to a beach with the same name.

The settlement was fortified and you can still see parts of the stone walls, paved walkways and ancient drainage system. Traces of the old port are still observed close to the shore, and the excavated artifacts are displayed in the Archeological Museum of Skyros, close to Brooke square.

The site is very close to the island airport, as part of the route is via unpaved road.
