Agios Leon is a small village in the less touristic west part of Zakynthos
island. It is close Porto Limnionas
and Porto Roxa, two tiny fjord-like canals in the sea where you can swim in crystal clear turquoise water.
At first sight Agios Leon looks like two neighborhoods separated by the main road, with neat houses and a couple of churches. But if you take a stroll in the narrow alleys where cars can hardly pass, you will have the chance to see old buildings in the traditional for the Ionian islands architecture. Within the village there are holiday homes and small hotels with rooms and apartments to rent, a few tavernas and a super market.
The area around Agios Leon has many hiking trails and dirt roads which run parallel to the rocky coast. Some of them reveal breathtaking views to the majestic vertical cliffs and sea caves.
