Agii Saranda

Blue sea

Agii Saranda (translated as "Holy Forty") is a large sandy beach on the north coast of Pelion. It is close to Chorefto and the mountainous villages of Makrirrachi and Zagora, accessible via narrow winding road.

Agii Saranda has rocks from both sides and lots of greenery which contrast to the blue sea. The beach is covered with coarse sand all over. The water is not shallow around the shore but it slopes gently, and when there are no waves the sea is crystal clear and transparent. In the summer sunbeds and parasols are provided by a couple of beach bars and tavernas. Around the beach there are only a few complexes with studios to rent, so it is a good choice for quiet accommodation.

The closest village is Makrirrachi (4 km) but a mini market and more options to eat can be also found in Chorefto within 2.5 km (only in the summer months).
