Agia Marina

Agia Marina

Agia Marina is situated on a very long and uninterrupted beach strip which spreads for approximately 10 kilometers and is common for a few settlements. With the neighbor resorts of Platanias and Kato Stalos, Agia Marina has turned out to be the largest resort area in Chania Region.

Agia Marina is lively day and night. The place offers all types of hotels, plenty of restaurants and bars, fast food, bakeries and shops. The settlement is separated by the main road Chania-Kissamos and there are hotels from both sides. The sandy beach is covered by sunbeds and parasols of beach bars and taverns, or of some hotels, but there is enough space between them. Various water sports are also available. Just opposite Agia Marina beach you can see the uninhabited rocky islet of Agii Theodori, with a big open cave. The islet is also known as the ”kri-kri” island - this is the name of a breed of Cretan wild goat, and on Agii Theodori there is a natural reserve with such goats. You can visit the reserve by boat and after preliminary permission.

There are regular buses to the center of Chania Town which is 12 km away.
