Acherounes

Acherounes is a beach on the west coast of Skyros island, located 1 km away from Linaria port. Its location is very well protected by the rocky islet of Valaxa and even in windiest days the sea is calm and there are no waves at this beach.

Acherounes is predominantly pebbly but there are spots of grey-brown sand around the shore and in the sea. The water is transparent you can clearly see both the pebbles on the sea bottom and the sea life. A seasonal taverna operates in the summer and rents sunbeds and parasols, there are also a few guesthouses and rooms to rent, suitable for quiet accommodation. Other tavernas, cafes and a bakery can be found in Linaria, which is within walking distance but you need to walk on the road because there are no coastal paths. Skyros Chora is 10 km away.
