Abrami

Abrami

Abrami or Abram is a calm beach on the northwest coast of Naxos island. Around the beach there is a handful of small hotels and one restaurant, providing accommodation in peaceful environment. Naxos Town is 20 km away or around 30 minutes drive.

Abrami is easily accessible from the main road. The beach is covered with sand mixed with pebbles around the shore, with a line of low trees for natural shade. There are still no facilities like sunbeds, parasols and beach bars but the taverna is right on the beach and it is part of a complex with apartments to rent. On a rock in the south end of Abrami stands up the small chapel of Taxiarches, with a panoramic view of the entire beach.

The area around Abrami is very calm, with small isolated beaches. Two kilometers to the south lies Kampos beach, surrounded by plenty of rocks and visited for the diving center. The location is good for holiday away from the tourist bustle, and also for exploration of the wild north part Naxos. The village of Apollonas, which is one of the few settlements in this region, is 15 km away from Abrami - it is known for the ancient marble quarries and the giant male statue.
