Tersanas

Stormy weather at the beach

Tersanas is a beach located in the west part of Akrotiri peninsula. It used to be the fishing port of the nearby Chorafakia village, which is 1 km away. The area is also known as Livadi but the name Tersanas is more popular. Around the beach there are villas to rent, some hotels, a few tavernas.

Tersanas is small and in the summer it has a beach canteen which rents sunbeds and parasols, occupying almost all of it. The water is shallow around the shore, usually sheltered from winds, and the sand is soft and yellow. 300 meters north of Tersanas you will find the miniature pebbly beach of Maherida, and the larger sandy Kalathas is 3 km to the south.
