Sarti

Sarti is a resort on the east coast of Sithonia, 140 km from Thessaloniki. It is one of the more popular destinations for tourists on the leg, with beautiful view of Mount Athos. It is named after the ancient city of Sarti, mentioned in the writings of Herodotus. The population out of season is about 1000 inhabitants. The resort is divided into new and old part, as the hotels in the new part are not so close to the center.

Sarti is a popular place for holiday, combining the beauty of mountain and sea, crystal clear water and sandy beaches. Tourism is well developed and the place offers variety of hotels, restaurants, fish taverns, camping sites and night clubs. There is a common playground for children on the promenade.

The beach is long and sandy. The water is shallow in one of its halves and deeper in the other one. Water sports and boat trips are available. Near the resort you can visit the incredible Orange Beach.

500 m away from Sarti you can see the Monastery of Xenofontos, built more than a century ago. Daily excursions to Mount Athos are organized.
