Pinakates

Pinakates

Pinakates belongs to the cluster of traditional mountainous villages in the northwest part of Pelion, as it is close to Vizitsa and Milies. It is a steep settlement built on the slopes of a hill overlooking the Pagasitikos gulf. The closest beaches are Kato Gatzea and Kala Nera, within 25 minutes drive.

Pinakates is a quiet and tranquil place, with the typical for the area stone houses with grey tiles on the roofs. Even the hotels follow this architectural style and most of them function as boutique bread and breakfast guest houses. The village square is not visible from the road, it is under the church of Agios Dimitrios - you can access it via some steps after you arrive at the parking lot and bus stop in the middle of the village. The square is really small and there you will find just a small bakery for bread and pastry, a mini market and seasonal taverna.

The mountain around Pinakates is very green and with plenty of water springs.
