Pefkochori

Pefkochori is one of the largest resorts on the east coast of Kassandra, between Hanioti and Paliouri. Its name literally means ”pine village” because of the pine trees which surround it.

Pefkochori has old and new part, separated by the main road. The old part has a small square with several tavernas and narrow streets. The houses of the local residents are in this area of the village but there are many hotels as well.

The new part of Pefkochori is located between the main road and the beach. It abounds in hotels, shops, taverns, pizzerias and cafes. There is a long promenade and a mini amusement park for children. In Pefkochori boat trips are organized to the other two peninsulas of Halkidi, boat rentals are also available.

The beach is not very wide and therefore it is often crowded in the high season but south of Pefkochori there is a 10km long beach strip where you can easily find privacy. The sand is coarse and mixed with pebbles, and the sea is very calm.
