Monodendri

Monodendri is one of the points from which you can hike the Vikos gorge and for this reason the village is quite popular. It is relatively large and well-maintained, beautiful to explore on foot, with plenty of hotels to stay and places to eat.

Monodendri has a very strategic location if you plan to see as many of the interesting places in the area as you can. Near the village you can visit the old monastery of Agia Paraskevi (with views of the canyon) and the Stone forest - natural rocks formations shaped like trees. Other emblematic sights of Zagori, the stone bridges of Misiou, Kokori and Kalogeriko, are also within close distance via the hiking trails.
