Mamba

Actually the name of this beach is Ampelos but it is better known as Mamba, after the name of a beach bar which functioned there many years ago. It is located in a deep bay on the south coast of Sithonia, between two huge cliffs.

Currently Mamba has no facilities and it is not much visited because 1) access is difficult as you have to drive more than 1 km on a dirt road, and 2) there is a fish/mussels farm in the cove where the beach is. Nevertheless, it is the perfect place if you seek solitude and isolation - most probably you will be alone there. The water is clean and transparent but the sea bottom is covered with boulders and the beach is pebbled.
