Kissos

Kissos is a small mountainous village in the north part of Pelion, close to Mouresi. It is also one of the closest villages to Chania and the ski center of the peninsula - just 12 km.

Unlike its neighbors Mouresi, Tsangarada and Zagora, it is less popular and much quieter but not less beautiful. The stone houses are terrace-built on the slopes of a hill with sea view, and the cobbled square is a nice place with trees, flowers and a few tavernas. On this square you can also see the old church of Agia Marina, one of the best preserved churches on Pelion dating back to 17 century, with elaborate mural paintings and golden iconostases.

The closest beaches to Kissos are those of Agios Ioannis and around - Papa Nero, Plaka and Damouchari, within 8 to 12 km.
