Keramoti

Coco beach bar in Keramoti

Keramoti is a seaside village near Kavala and the nearest place on the land to the island of Thassos. In the past it was known only as the place from which the ferry to Thassos departs, but in the last two decades it has developed as a resort and its popularity among tourists is increasing more and more.

Situated on a small peninsula with an interesting shape, it has a fine sandy beach surrounded by pine groves. The beach strip spans for a few kilometers and has a magnificent view of the island of Thassos and the small uninhabited island Thasopoulia. There are several beach bars and spaces for football and volleyball but the beach strip is so vast that you can easily find a secluded spot on the sand. Water is very clean and shallow, even offshore.

In Keramoti there are enough hotels and eating options for your holiday, mainly around the port, but yet do not expect a cosmopolitan place. Many tourists combine their holidays in Keramoti with day trips to Thassos. In the summer season ferries to Thassos depart each 30 minutes and arrive at the port of Limenas, the capital, where you can spend at least a few hours and visit the village center with its scenic old harbor and narrow alleys, the historical sights or just to have coffee at the promenade or lunch at any of the numerous tavernas.

The international airport of Kavala - Megas Alexandros, is just 10 km away.
