Kastraki

Kastraki

The small village of Kastraki is next to Kalambaka, nestled under some of the huge rock formations of Meteora. One of the two roads going to the monasteries passes through the village, as the first monastery on the way up is the Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Anapafsa, very close to the last houses of Kastraki.

Kastraki offers many hotels and guesthouses, and most of them are built in the traditional old style. There are also many taverns around the village square and directly on the road to Meteora. If you are looking for a place to eat in the area, Kastraki is much more convenient than Kalambaka since you will not be searching for parking space and there are plenty of taverns to choose from in a small radius.
