Kalandra
Kalandra is a village built on the top of the hill where the ancient town of Mendi existed. It is located 97 km away from Thessaloniki, on the west coast of Kassandra. Nearby you can see the remains of the wall of the ancient city of Mendi which in the past was famous for the donkey races organized there and donkeys were engraved even on its coins.
In the village there are several guesthouses and restaurants but is rather a place where locals live than a resort. The sea is 1 km away from Kalandra and the beach is called Mendi. It is a very long strip of sand and pebbles and though there are a few seaside hotels, it is usually very calm and almost empty. In windy days big waves appear.
Possid beach with its interesting sand spit is also 1 km away from Kalandra.
