Arillas

Arillas seen from Afionas village

Arillas is small and quiet resort on the northwest coast of Corfu, between Agios Stefanos-West and Afionas. It is located 10 km from Sidari and 25 km from Paleokastritsa, one of the most popular and lively resorts.

The beach of Arillas is long, with very soft and fine sand which can make perfect sand castles. The sea bottom is shallow many meters away from the shore and although there are waves sometimes, it has no sudden depressions. The interesting thing about this place is that the beach varies in width and shape because of the currents in this part of the sea - the beach strip may be wide and uninterrupted, and in the next week it may be very narrow or divided into small spits of sand. Similar phenomenon is observed at the beach of Peroulades, too. Sunbeds and parasols are available to rent (and as you can guess, their location is subject to movement) but since the beach stretches even out of the village limits, you can always find privacy.

Accommodation is provided in family hotels and studios, as the main visitors are people with children or couples who seek tranquility. There are several restaurants, supermarkets and souvenir shops, concentrated mainly at the beachfront.
